**About the job** Shot News is a news app where users pick exactly what they follow, from truly hyperlocal feeds to international niche topics. The product works on web, iOS and Android, and public launch is next. I'm looking for a co-founder in Germany to lead growth and the launch, help build our partnerships, and raise our pre-seed round with me. Part-time until we raise, then full-time. Equity only.I'm a technical founder with a fintech background and have built Shot News over the past year. The core product is ready. What comes next should be shaped by real users, and finding them is the job. **What Shot News does** Users choose the topics and subtopics they want to follow, and that choice drives their feed. On top of that come breaking-news detection, story threads that show how a story develops, and a daily briefing, all in a swipe-based mobile feed. Long term, we want to become the Spotify for journalists. **Where it stands** - About 1,600 articles a day from 23 publisher feeds and 3 news APIs, sorted and translated with AI, in English and German - Headlines and summaries shown with attribution, linking readers to the original publisher - Web app live at shot-news.com. iOS and Android apps in testing ahead of launch. - Location coverage for 500+ German neighbourhoods, districts and cities - Partnership talks under way with German broadcasters and publishers - Pre-revenue, no external funding yet **How we'd split the work** - You lead growth: the launch, getting the first users and keeping them. You also support business development alongside me. I lead product, engineering, publisher partnerships, the business model and company setup. We raise the pre-seed round together.Your first priorities:Plan and run the public launch - Find the channels that bring in the first users without a big budget - Track who stays and why, and act on it with me - Support partnerships: open new conversations, join partner calls, help close deals - Turn early traction into the story for our pre-seed raise, and pitch alongside me **You may be a fit if** - You've grown a consumer app, community or audience from zero, on a small budget - You've done business development: opened doors, run partner conversations, closed a deal - You run the experiments yourself instead of handing them to an agency - You're comfortable with numbers: signups, retention, what's working and what isn't - You're comfortable working before there's a team, a playbook or funding - You work in English. German helps but isn't required. **A strong advantage** - Experience raising early-stage money, or relationships with angels, pre-seed funds or accelerators, ideally in Germany - A network in German media or publishing **Terms** - Part-time until we raise, full-time once we do. No minimum hours: we agree on outcomes together and measure progress against them. - Equity only. No salary until we raise. - We discuss equity in the first conversation, before any work or trial project. - Before we start, we put equity, 4-year vesting with a 1-year cliff, IP and decision rights in writing. Shares are issued when the GmbH is formed, and the existing product and IP move into the GmbH at that point. - Berlin preferred, but anywhere in Germany works. **What you'd be joining** You'd join before launch, revenue or funding, but with a working product instead of a slide deck.
